Finally

In a few hours I will be traveling to Iran. I've been trying for several years to make this trip happen, and I hope it will contribute to what I think are some of the main themes of this blog: our lifelong struggles against deracination, our attempts to make sense of diaspora, and the troublesome question of 'home.'

I've disabled comments on this post, since I might not be able to read them for a while. I don't have time to write much now, but I'm sure I will have a great deal to say when I return to the U.S. in late August.
